The Lo-Fi Loungers

I got the privilege of joining The Lo-Fi Loungers last Sunday for a private party here in Dothan. Their bass player couldn’t make it so they called me up. The gig was very low key- just a little private party with a bunch of really cool cats. Kids playing and a nice breeze keeping us from melting. The group plays jazz  from the 1920′s, ’30′s, and 40′s and, believe it or not, has a repertoire full of tunes I have never played before.

The real point to this little post is two fold. 1) You should know who these guys are and 2) You should hire these guys. Seriously. They are humble and totally unconvinced of their awesomeness. Hello all!! Just a quick post to let you know that Eric Ward (vibes) and I will be playing at Piccolo in Auburn this Friday night (3/16) from 8:00 – 11:00 pm. We will be joined by our good friend and awesome saxophonist, LaRoy Bodiford! We really excited! This is a great environment for food and jazz so be sure to check it out. Find our more here.

El Palcacio - 2/11/12

Rusty Frith and I will be playing at El Palacio (1396 HWY 231, Ozark, AL) on February 11 (my birthday!!!) from 5:30- 8:30. We had a lot of fun when we played there back in December so we are really looking forward to it. One really cool thing is, if you eat there the day of the 11th (between 11am and 9pm), you can bring in this flyer and 10% will go Northside Methodist Academy’s music department! So, even if you can’t make it out for our show, hit them up for lunch.
