For a freelance musician in the south, Fall can be a wonderful time of year. The weather is perfect for outside gigs and there are plenty of them to go around. Everybody wants to be outside this time of year.
I was lucky enough to be invited to play for a neighborhood fall “festival” in Dothan that took place last week. I played this same Oktoberfest last year and had a blast so I wasn’t about to pass it up this time around.
The set list included tunes like Jump, Brown Eyed Girl, Superman, Hard to Handle, and about two dozen more from the 70′s, 80′s, and 90′s.
I am sincerely hoping this opportunity comes back year after year because it’s the funnest gig of the year. Great music with great people. You can’t go wrong with that!
